Enhance children's skills in letter formation and directional discrimination with our jumping activity. The activities are designed to support the differentiation between 'b' and 'd' which helps improve d b confusion. Ideal for enhancing visual and motor skills through engaging activities.
This product is used to help children discriminate between left and right and b’s and d’s. Directional discrimination involves many complex processes including visual, motor, auditory, verbal, spatial awareness, and mental rotation. Practicing activities that teach the brain to discriminate direction will strengthen the activity between the brain hemispheres and result in a smooth flow of information and processes back and forth.
Children should use this product daily until they are able to do all 9 lines without any errors and with smooth, fluid motions and timing. Their bodies should be able to jump in a controlled fashion left or right without touching the line.
Handwriting and informational posters are also included to help reinforce the skills learned.
When practicing writing, have the child sit up straight with the paper in front of them. Show the child how to hold a pencil and use the dotted lines and starting circles to form the letters. Go slow until the strokes and movement is fluid and can be replicated easily.
The informational posters demonstrate how to write or think about the letters, how to visualize left and right on the human body, and for demonstration purposes.
