Treasure Chest: (Can have multiple winners each game!)
A fun swashbuckling game of identifying coins, counting them, looting rows, and winning with the most rows or the most treasure at the end! Students will love winning each amount and row along with plundering the most treasure in their chest!
With three different levels of game boards, every player can find success. Game Boards include:
Treasure Chest Game Board #1 Easy (single coins + amounts $0.01-$0.50)
Treasure Chest Game Board #2 No Quarters (D, N, P, amounts less than $1)
Treasure Chest Game Board #3 Q, D, N, & P (all coins, $1 or less amounts)
First to One Dollar:
This fast-paced, or slow-paced, game is geared towards students identifying coins and exchanging them for the next value up. Students gather five pennies and exchange them for each nickel, then gather two nickels for a dime, and so on until they make their way down the board toward the one dollar. The first player to reach one dollar wins! But watch out! Players can snatch another player's coins, setting them back.
This game can also be played so that students go to two or three dollars by repeating the play and indicating their won dollars with a counter or four quarters.
The game encourages players to be quick and identify, count, and exchange their coins.

Use pages 23-27 for both games or use other coins you may already have in your classroom.
Use Pages 18-22 as cover pieces for Treasure Chest. You can also use your own counters or other items you have on hand.
Print in either Color or Black & White.
I recommend laminating all the pieces if you are able for durability and easy of use.
Your students will love playing these money games! They will challenge themselves to become quicker and more accurate with each round of play.
You will only need to supply a pencil and paper clip for each spinner. If you have the plastic translucent spinners, they work great!
I hope you and your students love these games. My second graders will try them out after break. (*UPDATE*: One group played Treasure Chest today, Game Board #1, and they had a great time. They said it was fun and easy to understand. They liked the cover pieces and counting the coins!)
Enjoy!
